Haul: Lipstick Republic

I have been on the lookout for purple lipsticks for the past few weeks, sadly finding nothing. I decided to have a look around for lip tars but - surprise, surprise, you cannot buy them ANYWHERE in New Zealand. I ended up on lipstickrepublic.com.au and found myself ordering OCC's Hoochie lip tar, then deciding shipping was so expensive that I ordered all this to get free shipping! It arrived 7 days after I ordered, everything in perfect condition, I am so pleased and will totally be ordering from them again.

Price wise - super cheap. Lip tars were $18AUS and they had almost every colour, I was in beauty heaven. So here I have my first haul post featuring all the fabulous goodies I got (and more)!

L-R: Nonplussed, Pin Up, Meta, Hoochie, Y0 Concealer

OCC Lip Tar in 'Hoochie': Never having owned anything similar to a lip tar before, this was quite the experience. I love the staying power and amazing pigmentation of these things! Hoochie is a gorgeous purple - the perfect purple. I was worried it was too dark when I first applied it but when I was outside in natural light, it was just gorgeous (I may upload photos later - it was too difficult to do it today due to lip tars not coming off ever). I wore this to my work do last night and it survived plenty of drinks and food with minimal bleeding.

OCC Lip Tar in 'Meta': I adore this colour and finish but sadly, it doesn't wear as well or as long as Hoochie does. Considering it's a stained gloss, I guess I shouldn't have expect it to stick around but it didn't exactly stain my lips either due to it being a ntural-ish (ish!!) colour when on my lips. However, I will reapply until the end of time because this colour and finish is its saving grace - gorgeous orange-y red with a perfect gloss finish and no stick! I'd recommend swatching these before buying to make sure the finish is for you.

Sleek Pout Paint in 'Pin Up': I'll start with my two most important points: 1. this colour is absolutely amazing, 2. this feathered within 10 minutes of me wearing it. Perhaps this is common place with pout paints/lip tars etc. so I will wear a lip liner next but I was so disappointed to get to work, look in the mirror and see the colour creeping above my lips. Besides this, the colour itself lasted for hours and it was absolutely gorgeous, I would totally buy more of these! They were such a bargain.

OCC Concealer in Y0: I am throwing away every concealer I own because this has literally taken over. I just cannot emphasise how perfect this is. After one application with the kabuki brush, all my acne scars and pigmentation disappeared! I was terrified of ordering the wrong colour but Y0 (yellow undertones, lightest shade) was absolutely perfect. It lasted all night with no smudging whatsoever and I got so many compliments on my skin! Airbrushed perfection, I tell you. I plan on doing an individual post on this in the near future because it is so amazing and I want to smother my face in it and show it off to the internet.

e.l.f. Kabuki Brush: Super soft, easy to clean, perfect. I actually bought this because I needed to spend $10 more dollars so I decided to try one out (I've never owned one before). I'm worried that I'm no longer going to use my Real Techniques brushes because this thing is a dream. Even application, minimal product use, it's definitely a becoming a staple.

Lippy Girl in 'Nonplussed': I got this lil cutie free! And I'm super glad I did because I'm in love with it! It's a gorgeous buildable light pink (something I would normally never go for) and on my complexion, I would compare it to a pinky nude colour as it has great pigmentation but doesn't look awful. On anyone with a slight tan, I'm pretty sure this would give the classic concealer lips look because it is quite pink but on a pale girl like myself, it looks gorgeous. After this, I'm totally considering trying out some of their other lipsticks because this one was so moisturising and lovely.
